PREP: MUST BE BETWEEN DAY 6-11 OF MENSTRUAL CYCLE

Dress patient in gown with all clothes removed from the waist down.  Ask contrast questions and sign consent form.

Tray needs: sterile field, sterile gauze, 10 cc Omnipaque 300 in syringe, HSG catheter connect contrast syringe and then test balloon, Steri-lube (KY jelly-put it on the gauze), metal sterile speculum, sterile tenaculum, sterile specimen cup with betadine, sterile swabs(big Q-tips), panty pad. Do not open speculum until you are sure what size the patient will require.

Position the patient with chux pad under them at end of fluoro table.  Have stool and light ready for doctor. BE SURE TO PLACE RIGHT OR LEFT MARKER.

If referring physician is performing the exam, and is not at the imaging facility, please notify their office.  Dr. Bird and Dr. Childs like us to call them on their cell phone when patient is ready to be done.  Cell numbers are located in cabinet above tech area phone at East.

Speculum and tenaculum are sent back to East to be autoclaved in clear plastic box marked for this. Please rinse instruments before sending them back.
