PREP: PREP KIT AT FRONT DESK, FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS
Interview patient: ask history questions (get thorough history ex: history of stones, hematuria), ask contrast questionnaire and have patient sign.
USE LEAD MARKERS
Take scout film: 14×17 KUB, make sure bladder is not clipped.
Show to Radiologist
Contrast mixture: 100cc (draw in two 60cc syringes, 50 in each) Omnipaque 240 (located in CT warmer).
Access site for IV, ask nurse or other techs for difficult sticks.
With Radiologist approval begin study. Inject patient.
Immediate 10×12 of kidneys, 5 minute 14×17, 10 minute 14×17, 15 minute both obliques
Show to Radiologist
Chattanooga Imaging does no charge ultrasound if patient has diagnosis of hematuria.
Post void
Show Radiologist before patients leaves
