General CT Notes

GE vs. Toshiba

1/26/2018

Toshiba scanners do not allow for half millimeter slice thicknesses. Please round down when translating protocols from GE to Toshiba. Example: if the protocol calls for 2.5 x 1.25, use 2 x 1 on the Toshiba scanners

Oral Contrast Dosing

2/25/2019

For all routine non-acute CT Abdomens or CT Abd/Pelvis with IV contrast the patient will be instructed to drink 32 oz. of water or Sprite 1 hour prior to arriving at the center.  Upon entering the CT suite, they will drink 1 bottle of Volumen immediately before the scan.

If the study is without IV contrast please give Volumen and then Sprite immediately before the scan.
