PREP: Refer to Lab Work Procedure Page to determine which drugs need to be discontinued and for how long. Pt. needs a driver.
Make sure patient has recent previous imaging of area of interest.
Dress patient in gown. Shirt, bra and pants off, gown open in back. Ask history questions and contrast questionnaire. Get patient to sign consent form.
Patient is to be positioned prone on the table. Pillow under patient’s belly. Sheet to be tucked in patient’s underwear. Try to make patient as comfortable as possible.
Remove clothing, debris, cell phones, and jewelry, from field of view.
Use right or left LEAD markers as required by Radiology Standards.
Use Fluoroscopy
- Gloves 7 ½
- Sponge forceps
- Sharpie
- Omni 300 – 10ml syringe with extension tubing
- Lidocaine 1% in 10ml syringe w/25-27 ga needle
- Wedge to Oblique patient
- Pack of 4×4’s for cleaning
- Pack of Chloraprep or Betadine
For Each Facet:
- 10 cm Spinal needle (may need 15cm for larger patients)
- 5-10ml syringe with 4mg Solumedrol, 1ml Lidocaine 1%, and 1ml Bupivicaine 0.5%
